Wolfy-hound's Material
Nothing more than a simple LED tent light bought cheap from a department store. Suspended on fishing line it made the
perfect illusion of floating. Wolfy-hound went outside on a lark after looking at the light and decided it looked something
akin to a space craft in minature. The second video was shot on a zipline.  Below are pics of it outside with the flash on.
Nightbird's Still pics
Nightbird added an LED flashlight to the center for an added effect. Here is the device
before leaving the comfort of home. Below is a picture of the lights suspended from a garden arch in the backyard in daylight.

Tips and Tricks
Things to keep in mind when doing this is field of depth. At night it is very difficult to discern the how far away a light is from you. To make this more effective a couple of things can be done. Take the picure with your light isolated. This gives a pure black background and nothing to reference it by! Of course, then people will claim it's the moon, or something equally as common. Adding a house to the background can complicate things, but is effective. It takes several tries to snap the disc at the right angle for illusion and ensure it is above the roofline with nothing closer to you in the foreground <without the support arch showing>. Take your time lining things up, and realize it can take a good number of shots to get a good one! Standing in about a foot of snow while crouching down to get the perfect shot was interesting. It does not show in the photo well, but Nightbird has a lot of snow up there! In both cases Wolfy-hound and Nightbird's lights were roughly 4 feet off the ground. Though at one point Wolfy-hound rose it to 8 feet.  The illusion of height comes from angleing the camera.  If you're daring, put the light in motion and snap the shot. Though a bit of warning, that makes the shot even trickier to make it look real. Those are one-in-a-millions. Have fun with it. It's amazing what  dark night sky and a bright light source can do!

Neat photo that caught breath hanging in the air... it's a shame the house messed with the field
of depth in this one. Attempts were made to duplicate in a later shot without the background
unfortunately the wind had increased!
